Microgreens are greens that have been harvested in their seedling stage, before they sprout into fully grown plants. Though they may seem small and adorable, the benefits of greens are that they’re packed full of the nutrients that your body needs. In comparison to fully developed plants, microgreens contain higher levels of vitamins and carotenoids.

The most common forms of microgreens are pea shoots and sunflower sprouts, which are grown and harvested in-house at The Sweet Spot. With microgreens, we also grow and harvest wheatgrass, which also contains a number of vitamins and nutrients. Everything grown and harvested in The Sweet Spot is organic and raw.

Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass is young wheat which is sprouted from wheat seeds. It contains over 90 minerals, making it an excellent source of calcium, trace minerals, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, selenium, and zinc.

It also contains essential enzymes, such as:
• Protease and amylase which both help in digestion
• Cytochrome oxidase, a very powerful antioxidant
• Transhydrogenase, known for strengthening the heart
• Lipase, a fat splitting enzyme
