The Story

Since 2015, The Sweet Spot has been serving the community of The Six Nations of The Grand River Territory with holistic nutrition, healthy food, and education on a more holistically focused lifestyle. The Sweet Spot team noticed a distinct lack of healthy food alternatives and sought to change that, and to revolutionize the thought process surrounding food and nutrition within the community.

The Sweet Spot remains community focused, seeking to support local organizations. The Sweet Spot team has also begun hosting classes and events using the space, to spread knowledge on healthy alternatives, raw eating, essential oils, and holistic nutrition and health.

The Team

Kahontiyoha began with the vision and dream that has guided The Sweet Spot into existence, and to where it has come today. The name Kahontiyoha means “small good greens” in the Mohawk language, a name was given to Kahontiyoha due to the green smoothie she regularly drank. Kahontiyoha began self-educating the areas of holistic and organic nutrition many years ago.

In an effort to learn all she could, Kahontiyoha travelled to Florida to attend the Hippocrates Health Institute. At Hippocrates, she participated in classes to increase her knowledge of holistic nutrition. From the beginning of her journey learning of the power of raw food, organic nutrition, and healthy alternatives, she has been hungry for more and eager to bring these back to her community. This hunger lead to opening The Sweet Spot.
